Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has vowed to stick to his principles against FIFA World Cup™ group rivals France. The South Americans are currently training behind closed doors in Montevideo before travelling to South Africa on Friday.

Uruguay make their debut against France on 11 June in Cape Town. "I have been given the videos of France's last two friendlies against Costa Rica and Tunisia," said Tabarez. "I will look at them and then I will do an analysis. One thing that is crystal clear is that we will study France but don't think for a minute that France will determine the way we play."

Tabarez is taking nothing for granted. The tacticians will be leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success as they try to find out as much about their opponents as possible before kick-off.

"I think the videos will clarify some issues," said Tabarez. "However, we have to take them for what they are. We know that teams are cautious in the warm-up friendlies as the start of the World Cup is coming very soon and it is logical that players don't want to get hurt."

Uruguay also face Mexico and hosts South Africa in Group A.
