In February 2004, US Virgin Islands defender MacDonald Taylor became the oldest recorded player to feature in a FIFA World Cup™ qualifier.

He was 46 years old when he played in the game against St Kitts and Nevis.

Taylor, born in Trinidad and Tobago on 27 August 1957, never made the finals, where Cameroon legend Roger Milla holds the age record at 42.

Dino Zoff is the oldest player to appear in the Final itself, turning out for Italy in the 1982 showpiece.
