Bangoura boost for Guinea

Guinea will be hoping the weekend comeback of key striker Ismael Bangoura in the Ukraine top flight will mean he is fit for the start of the final phase of African qualifiers for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™.

Bangoura had been expected to miss the Group E match away to Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou on 28 March with a serious tendon injury. But the 24-year-old, a former leading scorer in France's Ligue 1 with Le Mans, managed a comeback of 45 minutes for Dynamo Kiev in Sunday's 3-1 win at Metalurh Zaporizhzhya. The news comes as a major boost for Guinea's coach Robert Nouzaret, who had already recalled Ibrahim Yattara of Turkish side Trabzonspor to the squad as cover for Bangoura.

There is still some concern over the fitness of Fode Manare, the midfielder from French club Toulouse who has not played this month. As a precaution, Aboubacar Mbaye Camara from Belgian side Lokeren has been called into the squad, which is made up entirely of players from clubs based in Europe, save for unattached veteran goalkeeper Kemoko Camara who was last on trial at Esat Stirling in Scotland's third division.

Goalkeepers: Kemoko Camara (unattached), Naby Yattara (Sète, France)

Defenders: Mamadou Dioulde Bah (Racing Starsbourg, France), Alghassimou Balde (AS Cannes, France), Dianbobo Baldé (Glasgow Celtic, Scotland), Jean Habib Balde (Reims, France), Alseny Camara (Chateauroux, France), Ibrahima Camara (Le Mans, France), Alimou Diallo (Sivasspor, Turkey), Oumar Kalabane (Manisaspor, Turkey), Kamil Zayatte (Hull City, England)

Midfielders: Aboubacar Mbaye Camara (Lokeren, Belgium), Kevin Constant (Chateauroux, France), Fodé Mansaré (Toulouse, France), Mohamed Sacko (Etoile Sahel, Tunisia), Kanfory Sylla (Sivasspor, Turkey), Larsen Toure (Grenoble, France)
