12     Due to the goalless final day of USA ’99 edition in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Michelle Akers (USA) remained in 1st position in the all-time ranking of goals scored. The double World Champion is followed by Ann Kristin Aarones (NOR), Heidi Mohr (GER) and Sun Wen (CHN), all with 10 goals scored. In 5th position you will find Linda Medalen (NOR), Hege Riise (NOR) and Bettina Wiegmann (GER) with 9 goals, followed by Liu Ailing (CHN, 8) and Sissi (BRA, 7).

123     A total of 123 goals have been scored in the 32 matches of USA ’99 for an average of 3.84 goals per match. This was a slight improvement in respect to the average of 3.81 goals per match of both previous editions. The total amount of goal scored in WWC is now 321 for an average of 3.82 goals per match. USA are the team with the best average of goals scored (3.22) and goals conceded (0.72) in the history of the competition.

1539     Norway’s Hege Riise holds the record of most minutes played (1539 in 18 matches). In the all-time ranking she is followed by Kristine Lilly (USA, 1468 minutes), Julie Foudy (USA, 1459), Wen Lirong (CHN, 1391), Liu Ailing (CHN, 1381), Bettina Wiegmann (GER, 1372), Linda Medalen (NOR, 1351), Mia Hamm (USA, 1346), Sun Wen (CHN, 1286) and Wang Liping (CHN, 1123).
