From today, 24 March 2010 onwards, the first FIFA Women’s World Cup™ to be held in Germany will take on even more tangible and identifiable form, as the nine host cities unveil their official Host City Posters. Combined with their individual logos, the cities now boast another striking promotional tool in the run-up to the tournament.
The posters, conceived by the local FIFA Women’s World Cup satellite offices in the cities, all convey the special emotion and passion of the women’s game, while expressing each location’s particular features via an individual design. The posters also offer the cities another platform for local marketing initiatives at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011.
"The posters symbolise both the fervour associated with the women’s game and the cities’ committed enthusiasm in the build-up to 2011. We’re extremely impressed by the effort and professionalism shown by the cities in creating their posters. We’re delighted the host cities now have an additional, conspicuous symbol of their role at the World Cup," commented Organising Committee President Steffi Jones.
The Host City Posters will be unveiled over the coming weeks in Augsburg, Berlin, Bochum, Dresden, Frankfurt, Leverkusen, Monchengladbach, Sinsheim and Wolfsburg.
