Sweden have become the second European side to qualify for next year's tournament with a decisive 2-0 home win against the Czech Republic.

Sweden joined Norway in securing one of the prized starting berths at the FIFA Women's World Cup China 2007 after the team coached by Thomas Dennerby recorded a 2-0 victory over closest qualifying rivals the Czech Republic in Vaxjo. Umea IK goal-getter Hanna Ljungberg gave her side the perfect start with the opener after five minutes, before completing her brace on the half-hour to settle the issue.

"Providing we prepare well for the World Cup and avoid injuries, we could do at least as well as we did in 2003 when we finished runners-up, although everything would have to go in our favour," Ljungberg declared at the final whistle. "We now have a full year ahead of us in which to prepare," said a delighted Dennerby afterwards.
