JPN-ENG: Post-match quotes

Hiroshi Ohashi, Japan coach
I very happy to see the goal we got in the last minute, it was such an incredible goal. We expected to get a better result today but I am satisfied. You can find many reasons for those two quick goals by England but the main one was that England were in control at that time. Our game against Argentina is now very important for us.

Hope Powell, England coach
We showed a great attitude to come back into the game. I thought, 'Let's keep going and maybe we'll get a break' and obviously Kelly scored two very good goals. It was very disappointing for us that we didn't leave the stadium with the three points but credit to their player for two very, very well-taken free-kicks. If we had come off after 90 minutes and not got a point I would have been more upset. We are disappointed - we'd come back from a goal down to 2-1 - but we are still very much in it.

Aya Miyama, Japanmidfielder
It's the first time I've scored two free-kicks in one match and I'm delighted that I was able to earn us a draw. I felt a lot of responsibility when I stepped up to take that last kick.

Kelly Smith, England midfielder
It is not Kelly Smith's team, we are all in this together, all 21 of us. It is just amazing to play on the pitch today. Obviously we are devastated to just have got one point. In my heart I feel like we should have picked up all three but it was not meant to be and we've got to move on from that now.

Faye White, England defender
On the positive side we've made a lot of chances against a side who've been in this environment many times before. We're still in it, it's still in our hands - we were 1-0 down and showed great spirit to come back.

Jill Scott, England midfielder
After coming back, taking the lead and then conceding in the very last minute, it is really hard to accept. But let's try to take the positives - we had so many opportunities that we could have easily won this game.
