Miroslav Soukup, Egypt coach
It was a convincing win in the end. We played well and got the excellent result that we wanted. Playing in front of such a huge crowd was a shock to us, our players are not used to this. I am very happy with the result, especially as some of our players were very nervous before the game after seeing the huge crowd in this fantastic stadium.

Zoran Vrane, Trinidad and Tobago coach
We put in a courageous performance tonight and we had them worried, especially in the first half. But we failed to convert our chances after the equaliser. We were unlucky to concede two early goals in the second half and we never recovered.  The result shows the gap between the two teams and our congratulations go to Egypt.

Hussam Arafat, Egypt forward
I thank Allah for the victory, but we know that the coming games will be harder and more competitive. I'm delighted I could help my team-mates. Allah made it possible for me to score two goals, but credit must also be given to my colleagues.

Leston Paul, Trinidad and Tobago captain
We are disappointed as at half time we felt we were capable of winning. We wasted chances and the game got away from us. But we'll try use our first-half performance as a springboard for our next games.
