Jack A. Warner
On the FIFA U-20 World Cup Egypt 2009
"No host nation could be better prepared than Egypt. We're delighted to be staging the tournament here, and we've received tremendous support. As part of the FIFA initiative 'Win in Africa with Africa' this continent will host a number of major and important FIFA tournaments this year, including the U-20 World Cup, for which Egypt is perfectly prepared. This tournament will leave a legacy of superb facilities, which will be of incalculable value for the future of Egyptian football. The fact that holders Argentina failed to qualify for the finals underlines the fierce competition and extremely high standards of this competition. I would like to thank the Local Organising Committee, the government and the Egyptian people. We're looking forward to an exciting, top-class tournament."

On Tahiti and Venezuela, contesting the finals for the first time
"FIFA is always delighted when its member associations qualify for a tournament for the first time. We're delighted to welcome Tahiti and Venezuela to this World Cup."

On the opening match between Egypt and Trinidad and Tobago
"It's the first-ever meeting between the home countries of the chairmen of the two organising committees. It'll be a thrilling and historic game, and I'm really looking forward to it."

Hany Abo Rida
On the FIFA U-20 World Cup Egypt 2009
"I'd like to wish all the teams a very warm welcome to Egypt, and thank FIFA for the faith they've placed in us. I'd also like to thank the Local Organising Committee, who have done an outstanding job up to now. I'm looking forward to the opening ceremony and our numerous VIP guests, especially FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and His Excellency the President Hosni Mubarak. This tournament is an exceptionally important event for Egypt."

On hosting the tournament
"We're proud to be staging the tournament in our country. I'd like to thank FIFA and our government for their tremendous support. This World Cup will benefit our sporting infrastructure over the long term. We've constructed three new stadiums and fully renovated all the other stadiums. They all now meet the highest standards."

On public enthusiasm for the tournament
"We've been heavily promoting the tournament in recent months. Football fever has been growing and spreading across the nation day by day. We're confident of good crowds for every match. Egypt's fans can hardly wait to watch the matches in all the host cities."
