Sellas Tetteh, Ghana coach
The first half was not good for us, but in the second half we scored and showed our strength, power and determination. I think overall, my team was the stronger side, but we didn't start very well. It was a very difficult game, but when you reach the knockout stage, the games become harder and South Africa certainly made it tough for us today. They are a very good side, technically sound and beautiful in possession. Whenever we meet, it's a ding-dong battle - and it certainly was today.
Serame Letsoaka, South Africa coach
First of all, I must congratulate Ghana on going through to the next round, they played very well. I think that after scoring the first goal, my players thought the game was wrapped up and we were caught out. The equaliser came at a time which deflated us. Maybe if we had converted our chances, it would have been different, but I can't criticise the players, they gave it their all today. There had to be a winner and today it was Ghana.
Andre Ayew, Ghana midfielder
Today we saw a team performance. We stayed in the game and we fought. I'm proud of my colleagues.
