Sellas Tetteh, Ghana coach
It was a very difficult game, but first matches in a tournament can be like that. We put everything to win. I wasn't satisfied with the first half performance - and the goal served as a wake-up call for us. This was a lesson. We have two more games to play and we can't afford to start playing after going a goal behind. But I was delighted that we came back so strongly.
Akhmad Ubaydullaev, Uzbekistan coach
Our defence made mistakes and that cost us the game. After we went behind, we tried to alter our tactics by playing more offensively, but it wasn't to be. Ghana are a very strong team - and they are more experienced than ourselves - and I think that showed tonight. Perhaps their quality is a little bit better than our own, but at times we played well. We're just disappointed that we lost.
Jonathan Mensah, Ghana defender
It was a tough match, particularly in the first half and we didn't play well, but we took control in the second half. Against England it's going to be tough, but I'm sure we'll play better than we did tonight. Over the next few days, we've got to work on correcting the mistakes we made.
