For every Australian saying we should have won this is missing the point. If we played like the senior team and let the other team control the game then yes we would have won. However the coach we have wants to develop players to let them play good football passing technical football. And I congratulate the boys. All we were missing really is someone to put the ball in the back of the net. Its good direction that is why we lost. Because we changed our way of play. Credit to Costa Rica for winning.

LOROUSA (USA) Paraguay is certainly enjoying a golden era in their football endeavours. The senior side has already qualified for SA2010 after a brilliant campaign in which, among others, they defeated none other than Brazil 2-0 in Asuncion and gave them a run for their money in the return game. The U-20 squad has been excellent here. Paraguay is, undoubtedly, riding a high right now. I chose them as dark horses for this World Cup and they're proving me right. Thay could go far here. Good luck

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see any of the games so far, but I'm going to comment on the game based on what I saw of the highlights and the commentaries from other websites. Before I forget, thanks for the encouraging words from our fellow CONCACAF fans. It really is important to represent our confederation well and so far, except for the 3 hiccups we suffered in the first games (T&T, USA & CRC) we've recovered well. The other losses have been close and unlucky ones so we can hold up our heads high. It's up to the 3 remaining teams to ensure passage to the 2nd round. T&T, you represented well as you showed true grit!! As for the game that we won, the team played cautiously, but when we had to score, we did. The 1st goal was a beauty and the 3rd was equally nice. The 2nd was an obvious mistake, but the pressure was definitely on the Aussies as the counter was in full gear. Now...if we can only do the same to the Czechs, this will be all worth it. To my fellow Aussie fans, don't lose the faith because you're a relatively young football nation and the more you play, the better you're going to get; just look what the Yanks have accomplished. You have a lot of strong talented athletes, it would be a shame to lose them to Rugby footballers (no offense, of course).

"At half-time, you're thinking that 1-0 shouldn't be a big obstacle, and in the second half we raised our game and tried to get an equaliser. But it's always tough to play with ten men," Jan Versleijen, Australia coach.
