Group B rivals Uruguay and Jordan both have a point to their names, but the mood in the two camps after their respective opening-game draws was quite different. While the Jordanian contingent were clearly delighted to come from a goal down with ten men to finish 1-1 with Zambia in their first-ever FIFA U-20 World Cup game, the Charrúas were left ruing the concession of an injury-time equaliser against Spain.

The stakes
Gustavo Ferrin's charges expect a difficult game against a Jordan side certain to get plenty of men behind the ball, and the South American defence must be wary of rapid counter-attacks led by Abdallah Salim and Loiy Al Zaideh. The Celeste will be keen to reproduce the tempo of their first-half performance against Spain, when the Marcel Roman, Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani triumvirate combined to devastating effect. Opposing keeper Hamad Al Asmar will not make things easy for them, and he will be buoyed by a capable display against Zambia where he conceded just once, and that came from the penalty spot.

The players
Jordan will definitely have to do without defender Tariq Al Jumah, who received his marching orders against Zambia. Uruguay, for their part, are at full strength.

The past
Uruguay and Jordan have never faced each other at any age level or competition. However, the Charrúas boast a 100-percent record against Asian teams at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, beating Qatar 1-0 at Australia 1981 and Malaysia 3-1 at Chile 1997.
