Jose Sulantay, Chile coach: "The weather and the wet pitch made it a tough game tonight. There were a lot of errors made and many chances on goal as a result of a slick pitch. We look at every opponent as they come, and we know that we have a tough game coming up against Portugal and we will have to be prepared. We now have another long trip back across the country to Edmonton for our round of sixteen game, and it is not the best of circumstances. It is hard on us. But we will make do, and if we don't lose our rhythm and confidence we can win this tournament."
Paul Gludovatz, Austria coach: "We played an emotional game tonight against a very good team that can possibly go on to be world champions at the end of this tournament. We put pressure on them and had lots of chances to score. The result is OK for us and we are happy not to have conceded a goal. Now we will travel back across the country to prepare for our next game against the Gambians, and I think we have a good chance of making it to the quarter-finals now.
Christian Sepulveda, Chile defender: "We have to get better if we want to win and keep going in this tournament. I think we can beat Portugal in our next game, but they are a really good team with great speed and we have to be ready for the threats they have. Today's game we did exactly what we need to do. We didn't play that well but we still went through."
Nicolas Medina, Chile striker: "We wanted to win today but we are through to thew next round and that's what counts. We're happy to have gone through in first place, but we could have done better today. Now we'll go back and train with this result in mind. Portugal is a tough opponent and we will need to be ready."
Zlatko Junuzovic, Austria midfielder: "We played very well today. We wanted to put Chile under pressure and that's what we did. I think we were actually the only team that has put Chile under pressure so far. It was a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium today, that's what kept us going."
Sebastian Proedel, Austria captain: "Today was a great game. We played very attacking football and had the fans at our back. It was great playing here in front of such a crowd. We are thrilled that we reached the round of 16, that's a great achievement."
