Media representatives from over 40 countries will be in Argentina to cover the matches of the FIFA World Youth Championship.
While the majority of the approximately 550 journalists and photographers come from Argentina itself, there are also pressmen accredited from 19 ofthe other 23 finalist countries, as well as from 20 other non-competing countries.
The largest group from overseas is from Japan, with 33 reporters and 23 photographers accredited to see if the Japanese team can go one better than the second place they won in Nigeria two years ago. China has also announced a large press delegation, with 33 journalists and ten photographers.
So far, over 40 broadcast organisations have acquired rights to show all or part of the matches in about 100 countries and territories around the world, and the media accreditation list shows some 250 commentators and technicians from Argentina and abroad.
