Canada’s Men’s Under-20 Team will embark on a two-week camp in Duisburg, Germany on Easter Monday. The camp, which will run from April 16-28 is to prepare the Under-20 team for the FIFA World Youth Championships in Argentina June 17 to July 8, 2001.
Due to club commitments, Iain Hume, Julian de Guzman and Ali Ngon will be unavailable for the camp and Adam Braz will not attend due to a knee injury. Also, midfielder Tam Nsaliwa will not attend the camp as he was been named to the Men's World Cup Team roster for an international tournament in Cairo,Egypt.
“The Duisburg camp is the start of our preparations for the World Youth Championships. Although we do not have our full complement of players westill have quite a strong squad,” stated Canadian head coach Paul James.
During the camp, James has scheduled four games on April 24, 25, 26, 27 but have not been confirmed.
The draw for the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 26.
