A remarkable long-range goal scored by Mexico’s Olivia Jimenez against Switzerland has been voted Goal of the Tournament at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Japan 2012 by users of FIFA.com. The right-footed effort on the run confirmed Mexico’s victory against the Swiss and ultimately helped the North Americans on their way to the quarter-finals.

In second place was a stunning solo effort from Brazil’s Amanda, with her injury-time volley from an acute angle ensuring her side claimed a late share of the points against Italy. Another Mexican sealed third place with Sofia Huerta claiming the final position on the podium, with a classy control and finish also against Switzerland.
