Roberto Medina, Mexico coach
The South Koreans scored early on and that made it an uphill task for us right from the start. Their finishing was better than ours and that was the key to the game, though we kept trying to go forward and gave it our all out there. We fought hard and we never let our heads go down but we just couldn’t put our chances away. After the game I told the players they should be proud of their efforts and the hard work they put in. We’ve had the best tournament ever by a Mexican team and they’re a young side with a bright future ahead of them.

Choi In-Cheul, Korea Republic coach
My players have trained hard and they’ve kept on working and working towards this objective. This is a great day for women’s football in the Korea Republic and reaching the semi-finals for the first time is going to give the game a huge boost back home. We were very professional out there today. We take our work very seriously and we managed to overcome our initial nerves and enjoy the game. We are also very grateful to the city of Dresden for the treatment we have had here throughout the tournament.

Lee Hyun-Young, Korea Republic player
I’m very happy with my two goals and they played a big part in my team winning the match and qualifying for the next round. To be honest I wasn’t even aware of how many people there were at the game today. It was incredible when we got to half-time. Thanks a lot Dresden for all your support.
