Marcos Gaspar, Brazil coach
We are happy with the result but unfortunately we do not go on to the quarter-finals. We are going home but we hope Brazil have left a good impression here in Germany and that everyone could see we were a good team. Today was a hard game because New Zealand are a good team with physical strengths.

Tony Readings, New Zealand coach
We have massive respect for Brazil because of their history but it was still a match we wanted to win and even at 1-0 down, and then 2-0, we made changes to try and win. We didn't want to leave the tournament regretting that we hadn't gone all out to win. We are disappointed not to get any points but it was always going to be difficult to get out of this group.

Estergiane, Brazil captain
The last impressions you make are the most important and we are happy to have played a very good last game. Of course we are sad not to reach the quarter-finals but we are still satisfied with this result.

Leah, Brazil goalscorer
It was my first goal for the national team. I believed in myself and when I saw the opportunity I took it. We had to play the first games differently to what we did but Sweden are phenomenol and so they go through.

Anna Green, New Zealand captain
I don't think anything major went wrong. At times we played at our best and showed the ability to win games but we did not take the chances we had.
