Mexico booked the last ticket for the FIFA U-20 Women's
World Cup Chile 2008 after beating Costa Rica in the third-place
match of the CONCACAF Women's U-20 tournament. The finals in
Chile will take place between 19 November and 7 December.
The Mexicans won the match in a penalty shoot out, after normal time ended with a 1-1 draw and extra time finished with the score 2-2. Mexico scored first through Claudia Ericka García in the first half, but Raquel Rodriguez equalized for Costa Rica after half-time. In the extra time, Rodríguez scored again, but Dinorah Garza levelled the score again and forced the penalty shoot out, which Mexico won 3-2.

Mexico, USA and Canada have now completed the 16-team pool that will participate in Chile with the hosts, Argentina and Brazil from CONMEBOL, France, Germany, England and Norway from UEFA, Nigeria and Congo DR from CAF, Japan, China PR and Korea DPR from AFC, and New Zeland from Oceania.
