Maren Meinert, Germany coach
It's tough to find the words at times like these. We are obviously very disappointed to miss out on the final, but now we know that we all need to improve. There wasn't a lack of commitment today, but I didn't have the impression either that we were creating decent chances. We need to be able to take defeats on the chin and that is the case today, since the USA were worthy winners.
Kim Kulig, Germany midfielder
I'm convinced that we are mentally strong enough to pick ourselves up and gee ourselves up again by Sunday. We've had a good tournament and we deserve to finish it off by securing third place.
Tony DiCicco, USA coach
It was tough out there - Germany are a very good team. We really defended well in the second half and that's something to be very proud of. We only got the one goal today but we did exactly what we needed to. Women's football in the USA is of a high standard and we want to win every tournament we enter. It puts pressure on us but we turn this pressure into an opportunity and now we can't wait for the final against Korea DPR. We love it here in Chile and we truly want to thank the people here for their hospitality.
Sydney Leroux, USA striker
I hope I can score again in the final, but I really don't mind who gets the goals so long as we win. We're not concerned with North Korea's strengths. We want to win the final, because we're USA.
