Andrea Rodebaugh, Mexico coach
Brazil are very strong opponents. We went out there to try to win, but we couldn't manage it. We prepared a great deal for this event and I'm very proud of the players. We worked very hard and sacrificed a lot, but we're a very young team and in the end that inexperience cost us.
Kleiton Lima, Brazil coach
It was a good game to watch and one we're pleased to have won. We knew we had to mark the Mexican players closely, as we'd seen them and knew they were very talented. We remain focused on this group phase and on winning. All we're thinking about now is our next match against Norway, and only after that will we begin to look ahead to our next opponents, who will be very tough. As a team we feel right at home here in Chile. We've had great support and affection from the people of Temuco, so I'd like to dedicate this win to them.
