Defending champions Korea DPR booked their place in the quarter finals of Chile 2008 with an impressive 5-1 victory over Mexico in Chillan.

The Asians took just nine minutes to open the scoring. Ryom Su Ok fired the ball past Erika Vanegas from the edge of the box. Eight minutes later, they were 2-0 up when Ri Ye Gyong's corner kick was met by Pak Kuk Hui who headed home.

It got worse for Korea DPR six minutes before half-time when Kim Chol Mi fed Choe Un Ju inside the box and he made no mistake with a strong right-footed shot.

Korea DPR made it four eight minutes after the restart through Ri Hyon Suk and in the 66th minute, No5 came when Kim Chun Hui's cross was headed into the net by Ri Ye Gyong.

Charlyn Corral grabbed a goal for the Mexicans six minutes from time, but it was scant consolation for the Mexicans, who leave the tournament without a point and having conceded 12 goals in three games.
