Both USA and Mexico were favorites to advance, and in the senior world stage they are both teams that a lot of teams don't want to be paried up against, but to teams ranked in the top ten, facing USA or Mexico isn't so scary to them.

Who lost a Confederations final after leading 2-0? Anwer: US. Have any team from Concacaf ever won a Confederations title?, the answer: yes, Mexico defeating Brasil. Both MX and US are improving and now they get respect from everyone but to say that no team wants to face the US next World Cup and that Brasil is scared of US... it's just an arrogant statement.

The match appeared to me to be fairly even statistically. Having to work I wasn't able to actually watch the match so cannot speak to the esthetics of the play. What any game at this age group shows is the potential of the players. Now its up to them to work hard to reach that potential for the future. If these young US players work had and get with good clubs/coaches they can make a serious impact in 4-6 years on the World Stage. That is the what I look forward to the most. we'll see in 2014 & 2018.

Part of me is hoping that we draw Germany in the next round so that we can exact some revenge for the European Championship semi-final defeat over the summer. We're enjoying it here and we don't want to go home just yet. We want to be in it to the end. Pasquale Salerno, Italy coach
