Eugenio Umanzor, Honduras coach
"We knew before we arrived here that we were in a very difficult group, but we're not defeatist. We want to prove we can hold our own against highly-talented and experienced sides like Argentina. Our main aim was to show that we could give them a game, and I think that's what we did. We even thought we could pull off a surprise win, but with the weather conditions, it became more and more difficult for us. Argentina proved that they deserved to win. Overall, I don't think the weather had any bearing on the result - the better team won."
Jose Luis Brown, Argentina coach
"We weren't at all surprised by how well our opponents played. The first thing we emphasise when preparing for any match is to respect the opposition, whoever they may be. It was a very difficult match, firstly because of how well Honduras played, and secondly because of the weather. I know from experience that the first match in a World Cup is always the most difficult, and we managed to win. I'm delighted with the result, but I'm already thinking about the work we have to do to be well prepared for the next two games."
