The 14th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup kicks off on Saturday 18 June, with 24 teams battling it out for junior football’s ultimate prize. Since its inception in 1985 in China, the tournament has consistently showcased stars in the making, the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Ronaldinho, Kanu, Xavi, Landon Donovan, Cesc Fabregas and many more.
FIFA.com wants to know who you think will win the competition in Mexico, and who of the 502 players taking part might just be on the cusp of global footballing superstardom. Will Brazil, and their core of hugely talented up-and-comers like Lucas Piazon, add a fourth title to their impressive three? Will their South American neighbours and rivals Argentina finally collect a trophy that has strangely eluded them, or will hosts Mexico rise to the occasion and win their second U-17 crown?
Contenders will come from all corners of the globe to battle it out on Mexican soil between 18 June and 10 July’s final at the fabled Estadio Azteca. So tell FIFA.com, the tournament’s official website, who you think will win and who you think will shine over the next frenzied, exuberant 23 days in Mexico.
