I think we deserved to win this match based on the 90 minutes. I'd like to dedicate this win and our progression to the knockout stage to the people of Peru, who have suffered a very tough time recently. It's great to end up as winners of the group and we are looking forward to the next match - whoever we end up playing. There are things we have to work upon, but we will spend five days training hard to improve our standards. But as for tomorrow, the players will rest - I think they have earned it.

Obviously, it was disappointing to see the goal go in, but I cannot criticise my players. They gave everything they had and they were unlucky to lose to that late, late goal. We knew that Peru were going to give us a very good game and we had strategies to combat them, it's just a shame that one didn't work in the 89 th minute. On another night, we could have won the game, but the ball just didn't bounce in our favour. However, we are absolutely delighted to reach the Round of 16.

I'm absolutely delighted to have scored the winning goal. We created a lot of chances tonight, but just couldn't score, so I think my goal was a reward for our efforts. In the past, Peru's sporting teams have had a lot of criticism for not being winners, so I am delighted to see the excitement caused by our victory this evening. I believe we have a very good team and we are lucky to have a very good coach in Juan Jose Ore. He is like a father to us - and he is a big reason why we have finished top of the group.

Sometimes when you go back into the dressing room, you feel angry after a defeat. This is not one of these occasions. Both myself and my team-mates gave 100 per cent tonight and I think the better team won. We matched them as best as we could, but it wasn't to be. This match is over and now we're just looking forward to our Round of 16 game. It's absolutely fantastic to play in this tournament and I can't wait to represent my country again. It means so much to me.
