With the Tunisians controlling the early stages of the game, Oussama Boughanmi opened the scoring in the 20 th minute, latching on a right-wing cross from Bilel Ifa. Tunisia doubled the lead four minutes later, when Nour Hadria's corner kick was met by Khaled Ayari at the far post.
But the Diablotins fought back brilliantly with two goals inside nine minutes. A low cross from Kerem Zevne was met by Nill Depauw to pull one goal back from close range in the 27 th minute, then Kevin Kis made it 2-2 with only goalkeeper to beat. However, Tunisia took the lead again three minutes from the interval, when Msakni fired home after a neat one-two between Ayari and Hadria.
The second half began in similar fashion until Boughanmi was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the 52 nd minute. But Belgium were unable to take advantage and fell further behind in the 79 th minute when Msakni scored his second goal of the game, this time from the spot. The Belgians launched a series of attacks in the closing minutes, but it was too little, too late.
