The Korea 2007 line-up became yet clearer yesterday when Colombia, Argentina and Peru joined Brazil in qualifying from the South American U-17 Championship.

The Brazilians, world champions at this level in 1999, 2001 and 2003, had  already sealed their place with a thumping 4-0 win over Venezuela  last Wednesday, and they rounded off their continental campaign in style with a 5-2 victory over hosts Ecuador.

Lula, Bernardo, Fabio (2) and Maicon were the scorers as the Seleção underlined their Korea credentials with another sparkling performance that saw the favourites secure an eighth South American U-17 title with a final points tally of 13.

Their closest challengers, Colombia, finished a couple of points further back after the deadly Cristian Nazarith hit a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Venezuela in which Santiago Trellez and James Rodriguez also scored.

Like Colombia, Argentina had a point to prove after missing out on a place at Peru 2005, and Miguel Tojo's side made sure of returning to the world stage at this level with a 1-1 draw against the fourth and final CONMEBOL qualifier, Peru.
