Yemi Tella (NGA), Nigeria coach
"I'm very happy because we won against
Germany, who are a very good side and scored a lot of goals so far.
We played very well in the first half and I think the turning point
of the game was the tenth minute when we scored the first goal.
After that, we could play our football. I'm also glad as we
didn't let them do that today and kept our promise that we
would play in the final."
Heiko Herrlich (GER), Germany coach
"I think Nigeria deserve the victory. After
the two mistakes from our goalkeeper, it was difficult for us to
recover. We were unlucky especially when Sukuta-Pasu hit the post
before half-time. I changed the team a bit in the second half but
the game didn't go as well as planned. But I want to thank the
players because they did their best. Winning the third place match
would be a very good finish to this tournament in Korea."
Macauley Chrisantus (NGA), Nigeria forward
"I'm happy and proud with the seven goals I've
scored so far, which would be enough for me to win the golden boot.
Now the only thing left for us is to win the final game and lift
the trophy."
Kevin Wolze (GER), Germany midfielder
"The pitch condition was tough for us and made it very
hard to play. We could have controlled the game but the luck was
against us. We kept up the pressure in the second half and tried to
play well but it didn't work. We're still eager to win the
third place game against Ghana because this is a big tournament for
us."
