Yemi Tella (NGA), Nigeria coach
"I'm incredibly happy and give thanks to
God for everything. Argentina were a lot tougher to beat than the
result suggests. They were at their most dangerous from set pieces,
but we were very well prepared for that. We'll take whoever
comes as our next opponents. Our preparations will be focused on
winning the next match. Hopefully we can manage it, with God's
help."
Miguel Angel Tojo (ARG), Argentina coach
"I'm not especially disappointed. We gave
it all we had, but it just wasn't enough. Nigeria have a very
strong team and they played well too. We've played teams from
every continent at this World Cup, which has been a tremendous
experience for my players. We wanted to play seven matches, but
unfortunately it's ended up only being five. But that's
football. I reckon Nigeria and Ghana will make it through to the
Final."
Lukman Haruna (NGA), Nigeria captain
"We're all overjoyed. We've worked
hard and we were well-prepared to meet Argentina. Our tactics
worked out a treat. I'm praying we can take the trophy back to
Africa."
Luis Ojeda (ARG), Argentina goalkeeper
"Obviously, it's a massive disappointment.
We set our sights high and gave it our best shot, but unfortunately
Nigeria were just too good on this occasion. This World Cup has
still been a tremendous experience. We've learned a great deal,
and we have to be looking to the future now."
