A brace apiece from Victor Moses and Daniel Welbeck in the first-half helped England to a comfortable 5-0 victory over New Zealand in a Group B match on Monday 21 August at the FIFA World Cup Stadium Jeju.

John Peacock's side got off to the best possible start in the third minute when Moses held off the challenge of Nick Corliss and threaded a delightful throughball through to Welbeck who slotted past Jacob Gleeson.

The provider became the finisher five minutes later when Moses' fantastic turn spun Tim Myers around the wrong way and Jeju was treated to another sight of the striker's trademark somersault celebration.

No3 came when Nana Ofori-Twumasi robbed Jason Hicks of possession and put in a cross which Welbeck flicked past the keeper at the near post. Three minutes later, Moses made it four when he slid the ball under the body of the keeper.

In the closing stages Geoffrey MacIntyre came close to grabbing a consolation for New Zealand, but with two minutes to go England poured forward on the break once again and Ashley Chambers compounded the Kiwis' misery.
