Juan Jose Ore (PER), Peru coach
"It's a very good result, and it's a
draw that feels like a win because it means we are practically
through to the last 16. The team put in a good performance, and we
cut Togo's attacks short, which is something we'd worked on
before the match. They were worthy opponents and that makes the
result all the more valuable."
Paul Sauter (TOG), Togo coach
"My team played a very good game. We had 70 or
80 per cent of the possession and we dominated throughout. Despite
the fact this is the second time we've played at five in the
afternoon and it's difficult to perform at your best in such
heat and humidity, I thought we put in a great effort.
Unfortunately we couldn't put our chances away and we had to
settle for a draw. That said, I want to congratulate the boys for
their hard work."
Reimond Manco (PER), Peru forward
"We got a draw, which is a good result, and I
think that should be enough for us to go through. Togo proved
tougher than Korea for sure. They knock the ball around well and
they're tremendous athletes. Now we just have to wait for other
results, but we're in a great position."
Koami Ayao (TOG), Togo defender
"We played well, but although we put in a lot
of effort we couldn't quite get the win. We shared the points
and now it's all down to our last game to see whether we go
through to the next round or go home. We'll be giving it our
best shot, but in the end, it may or may not be enough."
