Korea Republic ended Togo's participation in the tournament with a fine 2-1 win at the Ulsan Complex Stadium to take third place in Group A and keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages alive.

And yet it looked like being the Africans' day when Lalawele Atakora latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the penalty box and unleashed an unstoppable drive with 20 minutes on the clock. All this after the Koreans had begun to exert some sustained pressure on the Togolese defence.

Content to sit on the slender advantage, Togo resorted to the occasional counterattack, leaving the slick Koreans to dominate possession. The Asians were duly rewarded for their enterprise when Seol Jae Mun rounded off an excellent team move to level things up right on half-time.

Coach Park Kyung Hoon went for broke after the break, bringing on a striker for a defender, and the Korean cause was further aided by the late dismissal of Koami Ayao. Yoon Bitgaram took full advantage to grab a well-merited winner ten minutes from time and send the Africans crashing out.
