Peter Dedevbo, Nigeria coach
We’re obviously delighted to have won the match. It’s always important for any team in this type of competition to win their first game. Beating a side like Korea DPR doesn’t come down to chance. We’ve all worked extremely hard for everything to come together at just the right time. The victory will give us a real confidence boost ahead of the next match.

Ri Song Gun, Korea DPR coach
The defeat has left us with an overwhelming feeling of disappointment. We were clearly hoping to do better. After we lost one of our players to injury in the pre-match warm-up, we had to make changes to our starting line-up, and it ended up costing us. Now we’ve got two matches left. We’re still able to qualify, and we’re going to do everything we can to get back on track.
