Men's Fair Play Award goes to Brazil
Brazil, eliminated by Cameroon in a spectacular quarterfinal match in Brisbane, finished top of the standings for the FIFA Fair Play Award of the men's Olympic Football Tournament 2000.
The Award - including an elegant Fair Play statuette trophy - is based upon the teams' attitude towards their opponents, referees and spectators, as well as to their general approach to playing attacking and attractive football. The number of red and yellow cards was also taken into consideration, as well as the delegations' behaviour outside the stadium.
Four years ago at the 1996 Games, the men's award went to Argentina.
The FIFA Fair Play Award will be presented to the Brazilian team during this year's FIFA World Player of the Year gala in Rome on 11 December.
