The road to the final round of CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying (scheduled for lateApril in Hershey, Pennsylvania) begins in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad this Tuesday(March 21) with matches in the first of three preliminary group competitions.The Under-23 teams of Canada, Guatemala and the Netherlands Antilles will join host Trinidad & Tobago in Group Around-robin action through March 25. The top two finishers from Group Aand Group B, as well as the first place team in Group C, will join the USA in the final round of CONCACAF Qualifying from April21-30.

This weekend, final African Olympic qualifiers will decide the three teams that will represent the region in Sydney. A fourth runner up will play off against the winner of the Oceania tournament.

Nigeria coach Jo Bonfrere has called up Chelsea's wing-back Celestine Babayaro and 15 other foreign-based players for the crucial Olympic qualifier against Zimbabwe in Lagos on Saturday.

Olympic champions Nigeria, third in Group A behind Zimbabwe and Angola, need to beat the group leaders in the final qualifier by a five-goal margin to qualify for the Sydney Olympics as group winners.

Zimbabwe only need to draw against Nigeria to qualify for its first Olympics tournament.
