The FIFA General Secretary announced the decision approved by the Bureau of the FIFA Futsal Committee in its meeting held during the Draw for the FIFA Futsal World Championship Guatemala 2000 that FIFA would be organising the first futsal seminar in Guatemala, in order to take full advantage of the organisation of FIFA Futsal World Championship and bolster the popularity of futsal. The seminar will be held on November 16 and 17.

The seminar will be directed at the national associations taking part in the competition, to the CONCACAF national associations and delegates of CONCACAF who wish to attend. The other member national associations of FIFA would be given the same opportunity to send a maximum number of delegates to the seminar, providing they bore the costs incurred.

It is a special occasion for FIFA to offer our national associations the opportunity to attend an event that will showcase a broad range of lectures on Futsal's, as well as Beach Soccer's, technical and administrative subjects. The debate on the matters included in the enclosed copy of the Official Programme should help us enhance both sports into their full recognition and expansion while giving appropriate response to our national associations' and confederations' increasing interest on them.

The seminar will be coordinated by the FIFA Technical Department.
