Old rival's China and the United States will clash in next Saturday's Final of the FIFA Women's World Cup at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

China humiliated defending champions Norway with a 5-0 thrashing at Foxboro Stadium near Boston, while the US struggled to impose themselves in a 2-0 win over Brazil at Stanford Stadium near San Francisco.

There were over 73,000 fans in Independence Day mood to see the Americans take an early lead against the talented Brazilians and survive heavy pressure before getting a second goal with 10 minutes to go.

China meanwhile, left their Norwegian opponents and 29,000 fans in New England breathless with a control performance from start to finish and the outcome never in doubt.

The US China Finale next Saturday will be a rematch of the 1996 Olympic Final, when the US took Gold with a 2-1 score win. With some 80,000 tickets already sold, the game will set yet another record as the Women's World Cup goes from one spectacular success to another.
