Victories for Brazil and Uruguay at the South American U-17 Championship in Venezuela on Friday 15 April secured their qualification to the FIFA U-17 World Campionship Peru 2005 between 16 September and 2 October.
Reigning world champions Brazil scored their second win in the final league stage with a comprehensive 4-1 defeat of Ecuador, while Uruguay, absent from the finals for six years, beat Colombia 1-0 to join them at the top on six points. With Brazil needing just a draw, the two leaders will meet on Sunday to decide who will succeed Argentina as South American champions.
