Kyros Vassaras from Greece will referee the final of the FIFA Under-17 World Championship between Brazil and Australia at the North Harbour Stadium in Auckland on Saturday (kick-off 4 p.m.)

The assistant referees for the game will be Philip Sharp from England and Paul Smith from New Zealand with the fourth official Bruce Grimshaw, also from New Zealand.

Kyros Vassaras, a financial adviser from Thessaloniki, is 33 years old and was appointed an international referee in 1998.

At its meeting today, the FIFA Referees’ Committee also appointed the officials for the third place match. The referee will be Tajaddia Fares from Syria, assisted by Heinrich Mackay from Aruba, Seydou Traore from Mali and the fourth official, Edgar Rangel Perez of Mexico.

A total of 15 referees and 16 assistants from all six continental Confederations had been appointed for the 32 matches of the competition.
