The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed fines of Swiss Francs 12’000 on the Ghana Football Association and the Uruguay Football Association respectively for indiscipline during their quarterfinal match on November 20.
At its meeting in Auckland on 22 November 1999, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee under the chairmanship of Mr Marcel Mathier (Switzerland), dealt with various incidents which occurred during the above mentioned match and concerning the behaviour of officials of both teams in the technical area.
The Committee in addition, cautioned the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association for improper behaviour and imposed on him a fine of Swiss Francs 2’000. He is also banned from the field level for the remainder of the competition.
The Committee also cautioned the assistant coach of Uruguay for improper behaviour and imposed on him a fine of Swiss Francs 1’000.
