Sergio Batista, Argentina coach
We controlled the game throughout and I am very happy with my players. We made some changes to the line-up but I have my total trust on the players and they performed rather well. We hear the crowds were chanting for Messi as the team played today without him. I hope the fans will understand our goal is winning the gold so we have to rest some key players for some time, while providing the other players with chances to gain experience. Next game we will play against the Netherlands and they are a team we can't underestimate.
Miroslav Dujukic, Serbia coach
We are disappointed that we didn't win the game. We had so many problems in preparation and we had battles with clubs that were reluctant to release the players. The team was not together until 14 days before the tournament. I was sad we failed to progress to the next round. But I won't blame the players as they played so bravely and hard and they represent the future of our football.
Vladimir Stojkovic, Serbia goalkeeper
When we played against Argentina tonight we all had the common goal: to do our best to showcase our level and play for honour, making our people feel proud of us. Our rivals are a strong team with a lot of talented players but we didn't give up without fight.
