Nigeria's U-23 side routed South Africa 3-0 on Wednesday to book the last available African spot at the Men's Olympic Football Tournament in Beijing this August.

Taye Taiwo, a former U-20 Nigerian star and current Olympique Marseille defender, scored two goals for the side that has come to be known as the 'dream team.' Everton's Victor Anichebe scored the third on his debut after coming as a second-half substitute.

With the win the Nigerians, coached by former U-20 coach international Samson Siasia, finish on top of their qualifying group with just one point more than closest chasers Ghana. The Nigerians will now join up with Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon as African representatives at the 16-team Olympic tournament in China this summer.
