Dunga, Brazil coach
That was a very tough game. It’s always difficult against Cameroon. They defended very well and made life difficult for our forwards. Rafael Sobis did well in training this week. We knew it was going to be a very physical game and Rafael’s the right man for such games. We know we can’t expect any easy games if we want to win gold here.
Rafael Sobis, Brazil forward
Our team spirit and quality really come to the fore in difficult games. The substitutes showed their quality today which proves just how lucky we are with the options we have in the squad.
Martin Ndtoungou, Cameroon coach,
We didn’t come here just to defend. You could see we took the game to Brazil and played well today. We lost one player through injury early on and then another after the sending-off in the second half. We did well considering we were playing against Brazil with only 10 men and still managed to take them to extra time. With 11 players on the pitch at the end, it might have been a different story. I’m very happy with these young players who are going to make up the core of the team that plays in the qualifying games for the next World Cup.
