Park Sung-Wha, Korea Republic coach
We did all we could to win by a big margin, but even if we had managed that, the result of the Cameroon-Italy game means we couldn't have qualified anyway. Today we attacked a lot and played well, but it was our defeat against Italy that cost us. I'm responsible for the fact we were unable to reach the next round.
Kim Dong Jin, Korea Republic's goalscorer
The idea was to score heavily to be in with a chance of qualifying, but our win was not enough. We're very disappointed not to have achieved our objective of making the next round and winning a medal. It's a very sad day for all of us.
Gilberto Yearwood, Honduras coach
It was a classic meeting of a team who had no option [but to attack] and another who was already out of the running. The 1-0 scoreline doesn't reflect the goalscoring situations created by both teams, the majority of which fell to them. A combination of good saves from our keeper and poor finishing meant the score was not an accurate reflection of what happened out on the pitch.
Samuel Caballero, Honduras captain
We had good scoring chances but didn't take them, whereas they did. That was the big difference between the sides. Our elimination aside, we have to be pleased. This experience will really do a lot for the young players in this team.
