On 4 April four of Spain’s best EA SPORTS™ FIFA 13 players gathered at the home of La Liga club Valencia for the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2013 Spain Territory Showdown. The winner of the Spanish showdown received a seat at the FIWC13 Grand Final in Madrid.

"I am here to win," said Maximo Ibanez before his opening game at the Spanish event. The RCD Espanyol supporter did just that, easing to comfortable victories against Rafael Riobo and Francisco Martìn to set up a final against defending national champion David Arboli. Ibanez proved too strong for Arboli in the Final, winning the match and booking his seat in Madrid for the 2013 Grand Final.

The Spain Showdown was streamed live on FIFA.com and at FIFA on YouTube. FIWC fans were able to tune in and enjoy the entire two-hour event live from the Mestalla with special guest Sergio Canales. The Valencia player answered questions posted by fans on Twitter and crowned the new champion before challenging him to an exhibition match.
