Bruce Grannec has confirmed his seat at the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2013 Grand Final by winning the French Territory Showdown in Marseille on 12 February. The Top 3 players from France joined FIWC12 runner-up Bruce Grannec in a high-stakes showdown for a place in the Madrid Grand Final.
Grannec defeated Sofiane Oubellouch in the deciding game. With both players opting for Real Madrid, Grannec quickly raced into a two goal lead inside the first 10 minutes thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo. With a coveted place at the Grand Final up for grabs Bruce kept the pressure on full, dominating the game and enjoying a comfortable 6-1 victory.
“Getting the chance to represent France at the 2013 Grand Final will be a great honour. I know that all of the best players from around the world will be in Madrid so it is important that I remain focused and continue to practice if I want to stand a chance of winning,” said Grannec.
Mandanda surprises Marseille competitors
Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda attended the event and offered the players some last-minute tips on how he remain calm under pressure. “The FIWC is great tournament because it brings football fans from all over the globe together and allows them to share their passion for football,“ said Mandanda.
“I thought that we had some good FIFA 13 players in the Marseille squad but after having seen the quality of these guys today I’m not so sure anymore,“ exclaimed the French international, "The skills these guys have are incredible.
