The latest edition of the FIFA Interactive World Cup, the world's largest virtual football tournament, is finally underway. For the eighth consecutive year, FIFA and its partners EA SPORTS™ and Sony PlayStation® are searching for the world's best virtual football player, and this year's tournament promises to be even bigger and better than ever before!

Secure your place at the Grand Final
The best 24 EA SPORTS™ FIFA 12 players in the world will convene next May to compete for the virtual football crown, but until then there’s a long road ahead. There are two ways of securing your place at this year's Grand Final: Win one of the eleven Live Events being held worldwide or claim one of twelve tickets available via the online qualification seasons.

Breathtaking prizes for a breathtaking tournament
Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta... these are just some of the superstars that you could be rubbing shoulders with at the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala! The FIFA Interactive Champion 2012 will get to attend the FIFA Ballon d'Or 2012 and meet the world's greatest players. Defending FIWC champion Francisco Cruz can still barely believe he will be travelling to Zurich on 9 January to rub shoulders with his idols at the next gala. "It still hasn't quite sunk in. Meeting players like Messi and Ronaldo is something not everyone gets the chance to do. I'm really going to savour it!"

But that's not all. The FIWC12 winner will also receive a staggering USD 20,000 in prize money, not to mention the honour of being crowned FIFA Interactive World Champion.

The largest computer games tournament in the world
Finally the long wait is over and the world’s largest computer games tournament, the FIFA Interactive World Cup, is underway. A world record 869,543 players, as confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records, took part in 2010, once again underlining the global reach of the FIFA Interactive World Cup. Where else do football gamers get the chance to become an official world champion? Get involved now to compete against like-minded individuals from all over the world.
