FIWC final is music to Manuel’s ears

Germany’s Manuel Waibel has his own special way of focusing on his matches in the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2011 Grand Final - by putting on his headphones and listening to his favourite song.

Manuel, who qualified by winning the live event qualifier held in Berlin on 7 May, says that the song relaxes him, enabling him to drown out all external noises and focus on the game in hand.

“I always listen to the same song, Church by T-Pain, as this means that I can concentrate. Whilst others like to shout and move about a lot when they play, I prefer to listen to my music and relax”.

Manuel, who comes from Vogtsburg and travelled to Los Angeles with his girlfriend Sara, took some time out of preparation for his final two group games to reflect on his first day at the FIWC Grand Final. “I’m so excited to be out here in Los Angeles, the opportunity to attend the E3 congress and take part in so many fun activities is amazing," he said. "Now I just need to win my final to group games and hopefully get to the final stages.”
